3D Printing Project

Here are my research notes on 3D Printing^
here are my multi-view sketches
here is my drawing on inventor^

here is my inventor file^

Katie did a wonderful job fabricating my part :) Above it is what I received from the printer

Conclusion:
  • What do you think of when you see something that comes from a machine? How is it different when it’s made by a human?
When I see something from a machine it is usually really precise and clean but when its made by a human it usually has a personal touch.
  • Are working drawings always necessary in order to communicate the design of a consumer product? Justify your answer.
Yes they are necessary because it allows the fabricator to visualize your idea of the design so they can make it according to the constraints you provide.
  • Animated assemblies are not typically included as part of the technical documentation of a design. How can 3D animated assembly models of an object or a proposed design be used in the design process? Beyond the design process?
I think that 3D animated assembly can be useful to visualize the design but I do not think they are necessary to build the design during the design process.
